The biggest surprise brought by the Lotus Elite is its 2.4-inch outer screen, which boasts 262k colors, 320x240-pixel resolution as well as intuitive touch capabilities. You can enjoy quick access to functions like SMS messages and Sprint Music without opening the phone.
Flip open the Lotus Elite you will find the internal display, which is the same as the external one except for its non-touch nature. The handset runs Sprint’s One Click navigation interface, offering customizable shortcuts to various applications like YouTube and Google search. As mentioned above, the phone also comes with three social networking options: Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
The Lotus Elite sports a full QWERTY keyboard to complement its messaging suite. Apart from text and multimedia messaging, it offers instant messaging clients including AIM, Windows Live and Yahoo. Sprint Mobile Email supports push email from popular Web providers like AOL Mail, Gmail, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail, plus other IMAP/POP3 accounts. Corporate email and outlook calendar synchronization are built-in as well.
Like other Sprint devices, the Lotus Elite is preloaded with an array of multimedia services offered by the carrier, ranging from Sprint TV, Music, Radio to Movies. Music lovers can access to Sprint Music Store to download songs over the air and play them on the integrated audio player. In addition, the GPS-enabled handset works with Sprint Family Locator and the Sprint Navigation turn-by-turn direction service.
Furthermore, users will get a full HTML browser, 2.0-megapixel camera/camcorder, 2.5mm headset jack, 1,000-entry phone book, stereo Bluetooth, full-duplex speakerphone, voice commands and wireless backup service. The Lotus Elite inherits the distinctive square clamshell form factor of its sibling, but measures 3.43" high by 2.44" by 0.73" and weighs 4.8 ounces instead. It comes with 80MB of internal memory and the microSD card port allows additional storage up to 32GB.
The LG Lotus Elite has some good improvements in both its design and hardware. All in all, it is a nice and attractive mid-range messaging and multimedia device which appeal especially to young ladies.
