LG eXpo – the Mobile Projector Smartphone

The LG eXpo, released exclusively for AT&T, is a Windows Mobile 6.5 device targeted towards business professionals. Not only is it the first U.S. phone to support an optional pico projector add-on, but is also characterized by lots of admirable features, such as a high-resolution camera, a large touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and AT&T’s HSDPA technology.

Snapping an additional pico projector to the back of the phone will give you the ability to project presentations, slide shows, movies, online videos and web pages onto any surface. The projection image can be as large as 40 inches wide and the maximum distance is 8 feet. By carrying the compact and lightweight add-on, you can now hold meetings wherever you want.

Even without the projecting function, the eXpo is a powerful phone itself. Running the most updated Windows Mobile OS, the phone is preloaded with the full Microsoft Office Mobile suite, email and calendar applications. It uses LG’s S-Class user interface with a customizable 3D graphic menu.

Aside from a 3.2-inch 480x800-pixel touch display and a well-spaced QWERTY keyboard, the eXpo also offers an optical track pad that doubles as a fingerprint sensor. It lets you navigate and browse through contact lists and web pages more rapidly, while protecting sensitive emails and personal information with a fingerprint lock system.

In addition, you will find many messaging and email options. Other than sending and receiving text messages with pictures, video clips and sound clips, you can use instant messaging clients like AOL, Windows Live and Yahoo Messenger. Mobile Email allows access to both your work and personal email accounts, including Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo and Windows Live.

As for media-related features, the eXpo boasts an impressive 5.0-megapixel camera with auto focus, 5x digital zoom and video capturing capabilities. The integrated music player supports file formats of MP3, AAC, eAAC+, AMR and MIDI. Also, the phone is equipped with GPS functionality for turn-by-turn directions using AT&T Navigator. Other extras include built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, voice dialing and voice commands.

The phone has a sturdy construction, measuring 4.50 by 2.16 by 0.63 inches and weighing 4.46 ounces without the pico projector (1.8 ounces). It offers 512MB internal memory with expandable memory storage via a microSD memory card up to 16GB.

The LG eXpo makes a perfect balance of mobile innovation, fashionable design and robust functionality, enabling business users to meet both their professional and personal needs.
