
The Kin One is a petite slider with a unique oval shape, which measures in at 3.25" high by 2.5" wide by 0.75" deep and weighs in at 3.9 ounces. The front half features a 2.6-inch, 320 x 240 QVGA capacitive touchscreen with ambient light sensor and pinch-to-zoom support. Hidden underneath is a full QWERTY keyboard for easy text messaging. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack on top.
The most distinctive features of the Kin One are the Loop and the Spot. The former is a user interface that populates the home screen with updates from Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and other communities, as well as your favorite RSS feeds. It gives you instant access to your friends and always lets you know what they are up to.
The Spot is a sharing feature that appears as a green circle at the bottom of the screen. By dragging content to the circle, you can easily share a bunch of stuffs like photos, videos, messages and even feeds at the same time, whether by sending a text or an email, or uploading to social networking sites.
The Studio is another great feature designed for the social crowd. It offers a secure online place where you can backup your phone’s contacts, call logs, texts and multimedia messages, photos, videos and social networking feeds. By clicking the Timeline feature, you can review what you have done on your phone in a clear timeline style.
In addition, the Kin One is packed with email support for Microsoft Exchange, Gmail, Yahoo and POP3/IMAP accounts. It boasts a full HTML browser along with Bing Web and local search. Shipped with the Zune HD media player, the phone supports video and music playback. You can enjoy unlimited music if you have a Zune Pass.
Besides, there is an analog FM radio and a 5.0-megapixel camera with flash, auto-focus and video recording capabilities. Stereo Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi and A-GPS are onboard as well. The Kin One comes with 4GB of internal memory but does not accept memory expansion.
