Currently available via Sprint, the BlackBerry Style 9670 is a fashionable flip-style smartphone combining a full keyboard with dual displays. As the second device to run on RIM's new BlackBerry OS 6, it brings users an advanced feature set that includes a redesigned interface, a better Web browser, advanced search function and much more.
The Style's clamshell-keyboard form factor is a new try for BlackBerry. At 4.62 ounces, the smartphone doesn't weigh too much, though it is somewhat chubby at 3.78" high by 2.36" wide by 0.73" deep. On the front, the Style features a 2-inch 320x240-pixel external display that shows the time, incoming calls and message previews. Flip open the device and you get a 2.7-inch TFT LCD main screen with 360x400-pixel resolution. The Style also has strong multimedia offerings. With BlackBerry Desktop Software 6, you can import your desktop iTunes or Windows Media files to the phone, and enjoy them on the built-in multi-format audio and video players on the go. Using BlackBerry Media Sync, you can sync music over Wi-Fi as well. Moreover, YouTube and Podcasts apps are onboard.
Apart from the aforesaid, the new OS adds Universal Search, multitasking ability and a new WebKit-based browser with tabbed browsing to optimize your BlackBerry experience.
Other key features include a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, a 5-megapixel camera/camcorder with flash, GPS for turn-by-turn directions and geo-tagging, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G connectivity, speakerphone, 512MB internal memory, and microSD expandable memory up to 32GB. There are a number of apps preloaded on the phone as well, such as Social Feeds, Sprint Navigation, Sprint Zone and DataViz Documents to Go.
